Robert Doto
Robert Doto completed his government career after 35 years of services as the Director of the Communications, Electronics Research Development and Engineering Center where he had responsibility for programs in the areas of Night Vision and Electro Optics: Command and Control: Communications; and Intelligence and Information Warfare.
Mr. Doto was previously the Director for the Intelligence and Information Warfare Directorate, a successor organization to the Combat Surveillance and Target Acquisition, Electronic Warfare, and Signals Warfare Laboratories. His programs consisted of Signals Intelligence; Radar; IED Countermeasures; Remote Sensors; Information Operations; and Cyber Warfare. Under his leadership, the organization doubled in size of both personnel and technology funding and positioned I2WD for the future plus providing a solid foundation for new Cyber Warfare threats.
While at Camp Evans, Bob was responsible for several ground Radar and Identification Friend or Foe Systems. These included the MPQ-4A counter mortar radar system, a predecessor to the famous FIREFINDER TPQ-36; a system engineer for the PPS-5A and PPS 5B Short Range Combat Surveillance Ground Radar Systems all of which saw extensive service in South East Asia. He was the production engineer for the FIREFINDER Radar Systems (TPQ-36, TPQ-37 and the Stand Off Target Acquisition System (SOTAS), as well as Project Engineer for several Bistatic Radar Programs including the BRIGHT Radar development which was tested as an acquisition aid for the Stinger Missile System.
He holds a Masters in Management Science and an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering.
