Radar Engineer
Job Description
RDA Technical Services is currently seeking an experienced Radar Engineer to provide research and development support for Army fire control radars. This will include systems engineering in support of simulation, design, development, prototyping, testing, fielding and support of Counter UAS and Advanced Weapon systems technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engineering support in the analysis, design, development, and testing of radar systems.
- Oversee the development of fire control radar systems from external vendors.
- Derive requirements for radar systems to meet mission needs.
- Provide analysis of radar state estimators and their effectiveness.
- Validate and verify vendor products upon delivery of systems.
- Develop test plans/test cases/scenarios for radar system testing.
- Complete in-depth technical assessments, analysis, and evaluations for military systems
- Analyze and assess system performance using M&S and/or test data
- Generate official reports that
contains the structure of the test events, the rationale on the structure of the test events, detailed analysis, conclusions, and suggested approaches for future development - Work with team members to understand their technical approach and provide technical guidance
- Present technical data/papers to leadership and industry stakeholders
Skill Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Physics
- RF or Communications experience
Hands on laboratory/field experience- Ability to translate complex technical issues into meaningful strategies and system roadmap and architectures
- Advanced Engineering or Physics degree, modeling and simulation, and radar system analysis experience strongly desired
- Strong technical writing and communications skills
- Ability to work well collaboratively and thrive independently
US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance (up to SECRET) is required. An active Security Clearance is preferred.

This position is located at the US Army Armament Research Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC), Picatinny Arsenal, NJ. ARDEC’s principal mission is to mature technologies for armament applications. Picatinny Arsenal is located in Morris County, New Jersey, approximately 35 miles west of New York City. It is the Joint Center of Excellence for Armaments and Munitions and is a leader in the research, development, engineering and production of advanced weapons systems and ammunition. The garrison contains 64 laboratories that produce a wide range of products including precision-guided munitions, mortars, howitzers, warheads and IED Defeat technologies.
